“I don’t think its coincidence that this week the Lord led me to include 3 John 2 as one of our scriptures in the weekend sermon. It says:

3 John 2 (NKJV) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

What a precious promise to remind ourselves of in light of the coronavirus. My goal in writing is to share with you how we as a church family and you and your family can both walk in faith AND practical wisdom during this time of heightened fear and anxiety. Both are important. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.” But Scripture also reminds us in Proverbs 4:7 that “wisdom is the principal thing.” These two Biblical principles are not mutually exclusive but rather work together in scriptural synergy to ensure that we walk in the divine health that 3 John 2 promises.

Below you will see what we as a church are doing, what you and your family can do, and a reminder of what God promises to do.

What We at Faith Church Are Doing
We have installed new hand sanitizer dispensers at each main sanctuary door as you exit or enter.
We are upgrading our HVAC filters to 4-ply anti-microbial media filters that remove 99.9% of all air-borne bacteria including COVID-19.
We disinfect all the toys in the children’s ministry every day and after each service. At our campuses before and after each service.
We are wiping down all handles and doorknobs with disinfectant wipes on a daily basis as well as all metal surfaces. At our campuses before and after each service.

What You Can Do
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds under warm to hot water
Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands
Regularly use a disinfectant wipe on your mobile phone
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.
Minimize hugs and handshakes during this time (use the new greeting that I started employing this week at church that I referred to as a “heeling.” This is where we greet each other by tapping heels.)
Boost your immune system by exercising, prioritizing sleep, proper nutrition (decrease processed foods and foods with high levels of refined sugar and increase fruits and vegetables high in antioxidants), and dietary supplements such as Vitamin C & D, probiotics, and magnesium as directed by healthcare professionals.
Reduce your stress levels by meditating on God’s promises.

What Only God Can Do

Psalm 91 (NKJV) He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”

Psalm 103:2-4 (NKJV) Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies

Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Matthew 4:23 (NKJV) And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV) Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

We have a God who is able and willing! He’s a very present help in the time of trouble, Who’s got us on every level!

As a church, we are believing God to turn the tide of this outbreak and significantly diminish its effect on our nation. In the meantime, we are prepared to navigate through this season in a wise, fruitful, and God-glorifying way.

Remember: We love you. And with Jesus You Are Destined to Win!”

He is Faithful,
